Looking Back – A.R.E. Camp Keeps Campers Fed with Temporary Kitchen

After hours on June 5th 2015 Kitchen Corps received a call from Fred Dewey, representative at A.R.E. Camp in Rural Retreat, Virginia. The previous night their dining hall experience a massive electrical fire and the food service building burned to the ground.

With summer camp set to begin that following week, Fred Dewey couldn’t help but worry about how they’d feed the campers and staff after the fire.

That’s when he found Kitchen Corps.

“We received the call from Frank after working hours on Friday, June 5th and after talking some specifics Fred liked what he heard and gave us his requirements. Our team worked all weekend on the plans and set up and by Tuesday morning, June 9th one of our Rapid response Kitchen Units was delivered to Rural Retreat, VA”

Sarah Rogers, Sales Manager of Kitchen Corps. Inc.

The mobile kitchen trailer was fully functional on Wednesday, June 10th. Fred Dewey and other staff were impressed with Kitchen Corps’ quick response time and the quality of the temporary kitchen they received.

“When your company says you provide emergency mobile kitchens for disaster relief – you mean it and we couldn’t be happier. Your prices are very competitive, the condition of the kitchen is excellent, and the entire Kitchen Corps staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and dedicated to helping our camp continue food service during this disaster.

“In the time it took for other companies to call us back with pricing, your company was already on site with our temporary kitchen set up and ready to feed our campers for the remainder of the summer.”

The Temporary Kitchen Disaster Response kitchen remained on site for the duration of the summer and plans to rebuild the permanent facility are in place.
