Project Overview

Compass Group required a temporary commercial kitchen to support foodservice operations during construction of a Google data center in Bristow, Virginia. With construction activity extending over multiple phases, a dedicated onsite kitchen solution was needed to provide reliable food preparation and warewashing capabilities throughout the project.

KCI Temporary Kitchens supplied two complementary modular units—a Production Kitchen and a Dishwasher/Prep Unit—for a deployment beginning in 2024 and lasting more than 12 months. The combination provided separate areas for cooking, food preparation, and dishwashing, supporting Compass Group’s foodservice operations while construction of the data center progressed.

Challenge

Large-scale data center construction projects can involve extended schedules, substantial onsite workforces, and changing site conditions. Compass Group needed a temporary kitchen solution that could support foodservice operations throughout construction while accommodating the logistical demands of an active project site.

Solution

KCI Temporary Kitchens provided a two-unit temporary commercial kitchen solution consisting of a Production Kitchen and a dedicated Dishwasher/Prep Unit. This configuration allowed Compass Group to establish separate functional areas for meal production, preparation, and warewashing while the Google data center was under construction.
