Tornado-damaged Shaw University contracts with Kitchen Corps for temporary kitchen and 1,000 meals per day

Kitchen Corps of Chesapeake has been awarded the contract to provide a temporary kitchen facility and 1,000 meals per day to Shaw University in Raleigh, N.C. In mid-April the university was hit by a tornado that devastated many campus buildings, including the cafeteria. From July 2011 – January 2012, Kitchen Corps will set up and manage a 2,080-square-foot Full Service Mobile Kitchens that includes production and preparation areas, as well as dish washing, refrigeration, freezer and dry storage space.

Kitchen Corps is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business established in 1997 that serves clients nationwide by providing temporary kitchens, emergency kitchens, mobile kitchens, and kitchen trailers to universities, military bases, correctional facilities, hospitals, disaster relief organizations, corporations and more, that are experiencing new construction, renovation, long-term events, or disaster relief.
