In 2012, JE DUNN Construction contacted Kitchen Corps, Inc. regarding a new temporary kitchen build for Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, TX. Their current food service facility was being rebuilt and they still needed a way to continue food service for over 4,000 patients, staff, and visitors daily. That’s where Kitchen Corps, Inc. came in with our Mobile Kitchen Facilities.
A 9,000 sq. ft. temporary kitchen facility was built new beginning in November 2012 and was operational in San Antonio, TX by June 2013. The 9,000 sq. ft. facility included:
- 42’ x 25’ Production Kitchen
- 42’ x 17’ Production Area
- 8’6” x 39’ Preparation Area
- 33’ x 8’6” Dish Area w/ Flight Dish Machine
- 33’ x 8’6” Pot Washing Area
- 5’ x 4’ Cart Wash Area
- (4) 8’ x 20’ Walk-In Coolers
- (2) 8’ x 10’ Walk-In Coolers
- (4) 8’ x 20’ Walk-In Freezers
- (2) 8’ x 10’ Walk-In Freezers
- (2) 8’6” x 53’ Dry Storage Areas
Construction on their new permanent facility was complete in December 2016.
