Kitchen Corps raises $4k for Susan G. Komen through golf tournament

Kitchen Corps Inc. raised $4,000 for the Susan G. Komen Foundation during its 1st annual charity golf tournament called “Putting Fore a Cure” in Virginia Beach, VA.Leading the July 19 golfing event was Kitchen Corps National Sales Manager Sarah Rogers, who lost her aunt to breast cancer after a 10-year battle. Sarah is a member of Team Sistas, which is a fundraising group that has grown from 4 women in 2011 to 10 women in 2014 and participates in various fundraisers for Susan G. Komen.

“We accomplished our goal,” Sarah said. “Everyone had fun at the golf tournament while competing for various prizes, and we raised some very important money that will be put to great use in fighting breast cancer.”

In 2013, Team Sistas raised $24,635 to help fund Susan G. Komen’s breast cancer research, community education, and community outreach programs across the country. Kitchen Corps also contributed by donating $1,000 for every contract signed during the last quarter of 2013. Since 1997, Kitchen Corps has consistently helped worthy organizations while providing temporary kitchens, mobile kitchens, portable kitchens, and kitchen trailers to businesses and organizations experiencing new construction, renovation, long-term events, and disaster relief.

The next fundraiser for Sarah and Team Sistas will be the Sept. 12 – 14 Susan G. Komen 3-Day 60-Mile Walk in Philadelphia.
