4,000 Sq. Ft. Temporary Kitchen – Providing Service in Venice, Florida

Late summer 2015 Kitchen Corps was contacted by Gobbell Hays Partners, an architecture and engineering company in Florida. They’d recently won a contract with Venice Regional Hospital to provide a full renovation on their current kitchen facility.

In addition to planning a new kitchen facility, Gobbell Hays was also tasked with finding a way to continue food service for patients, staff, and visitors during the renovation.

That’s when they found Kitchen Corps.

After reviewing the requirements with Gobbell Hays, our Sales Manager, Sarah Graupmann was able to determine that our 4,000 Sq. Ft. Temporary Kitchen  would be the best fit for Venice Regional Hospital during their renovation. The facility would provide all of the adequate space the hospital needed to continue food service without sacrificing quality.

The 4,000 Sq. Ft. Temporary Kitchen  facility includes:

  • 2,704 Sq. Ft. Production / Preparation / Dish Washing Area
  • 960 Sq. Ft. Dry Storage Area
  • (2) 12’ x 20’ Walk-In Coolers
  • 12’ x 20’ Walk-In Freezer

The set-up was larger than our typical temporary kitchen set up’s. The facilities themselves were shipped from a storage area in New Braunfels, TX and all cooking equipment was shipped from our warehouse in Chesapeake, VA. Project Managers Eric Graupmann and Brandon Weldon were both on site to lead the set up.

We’d been tasked with completing set up in just a few weeks and with the number of tasks and subcontractors scheduled to help with the set-up we knew it would be a difficult one. Seeing the 4,000 Sq. Ft. Temporary Kitchen start out as basically nothing more than floors and walls and being transformed into a fully functional kitchen was very rewarding. We hope the hospital kitchen staff enjoys the facility during their renovation.”

The temporary kitchen is estimated to remain on site for 4 months during the renovation and will then be available to provide services to another organization anywhere in the United States.
